sorry, this is also a personal journal and not just a food blog.
my FIL had emergency surgery on saturday and we were at my MIL's house all day to try and distract her since obviously she couldn't be at the hospital. we ended up getting thai takeout and ate it again the next day.
my MIL really likes shortbread so i tried to make stella parks' brown butter shortbread on sunday which didn't work at all and used up the rest of my toasted sugar. i'll probably crush up the failed shortbread to mix into blondie batter later. i ended up just making more toasted sugar and calling it a night.
