caramelized cabbage

today was boring and lasted forever, like every other day. the temperature dropped last night so i thought some kind of slow cooked braise sort of thing sounded good.

recipe:
this recipe was alright, a good starting point, but could definitely use more tweaking to make it an actual thing. this is more of a side since it's literally just cabbage, but i added some sausage to it to make it seem more like a complete meal. i used a kielbasa cut into rounds on a bias, browned them in olive oil to get some color on them, then removed before starting the recipe as written. i added the rounds back at the oven braising step. i only used about half a cabbage, cut into five wedges that fit in one layer in 10 inch cast iron pan. i also added way less water at the braising step since i didn't want a bunch of soup leftover in the pan.
