toasted sugar

i ran out of toasted sugar while making the chocolate chip cookies and i
had nothing better to do with my time so i made more. tbh this is an
excellent use of wfh time since it takes like 4 hours with minimal
monitoring.

why:

less scary than caramel and you can use it as a direct 1:1 replacement
for sugar

it's really good in an otherwise plain buttercream to give it more
character and makes chocolate chip cookies taste more special

it's not any more acidic than regular sugar so it won't mess with your
baked goods the way brown sugar would.

the fuck else are you doing while ~socially distancing, at least this
will make you feel productive
